Salesforce Classic, the original user interface (UI) for the Salesforce platform, has been a staple in the CRM world for many years. However, as technology evolves and user expectations change, Salesforce has introduced a more modern and feature-rich UI known as Salesforce Lightning Experience.
While Salesforce Classic continues to be supported, there are compelling reasons why individuals and organizations may choose to turn off Salesforce Classic and transition fully to Lightning Experience. In this introduction, we will explore the motivations behind this decision and the benefits it can offer.
Modern User Interface:
One of the primary reasons to transition from Salesforce Classic to Lightning Experience is the enhanced user interface. Lightning Experience offers a more intuitive, visually appealing, and efficient UI compared to the Classic interface. It incorporates modern design principles, streamlined navigation, and improved responsiveness, resulting in a more enjoyable and productive user experience. The refreshed look and feel of Lightning Experience can increase user adoption and overall satisfaction.
Enhanced Productivity and Efficiency:
Lightning Experience introduces a range of productivity-enhancing features and tools that are not available in Salesforce Classic. These include customizable dashboards, interactive Kanban boards, dynamic reports and analytics, advanced search capabilities, and a more robust mobile experience. Leveraging these features can significantly improve user efficiency, streamline workflows, and empower teams to accomplish tasks more effectively within the Salesforce ecosystem.
Rich AppExchange Ecosystem:
Salesforce’s AppExchange marketplace offers a vast selection of third-party apps and integrations that extend the capabilities of the platform. While many apps are compatible with both Classic and Lightning, an increasing number of developers are focusing their efforts on Lightning Experience. By turning off Salesforce Classic, individuals and organizations can take full advantage of the latest innovations and integrations available exclusively in Lightning Experience, allowing them to leverage the full potential of the Salesforce ecosystem.
Future-Proofing and Salesforce Roadmap:
Salesforce has made it clear that Lightning Experience is the future of their platform. New features, enhancements, and innovations are primarily developed for Lightning, while Classic receives limited updates. By transitioning to Lightning Experience and turning off Classic, users align themselves with Salesforce’s long-term roadmap and ensure they are positioned to benefit from future developments and advancements in the platform.
Salesforce Lightning App Builder:
Lightning Experience introduces the Lightning App Builder, a powerful tool that enables users to create custom applications and experiences without writing code. This drag-and-drop interface makes it easier to build tailored user interfaces, automate processes, and deliver personalized experiences to users. By turning off Classic and embracing Lightning Experience, individuals and organizations gain access to the full capabilities of the Lightning App Builder and its potential for innovation and customization.
