Dynamic Dashboards in salesforce are a great tool for upper leaders in a company to look at KPIs from the different standpoints of a company.
This tool allows you to see a report through the lens of another user’s security settings.
One thing to note, this works in conjunction with current security so the sales rep cannot change their view to see the whole company, they would see only the portion they can see.
You are limited to 5 dynamic dashboards in the whole org so keep that in mind when you are deciding which to create!
Youtube Video
One more thing to note before we get too far into this tutorial.
We have a tutorial on how to create this on the Salesforce Emily youtube channel!
Sometimes it is easier to watch someone perform a task rather than to try and follow along with a blog post.
Step by Step
The first thing you will need to do is go to the dashboards tab.
To do this you can click on the dotted three-by-three on the left side.
Search for and click on dashboards.
You will need to either create a new dashboard or go into an existing one.
Here I am going into an existing dashboard.
When on the dashboard click on the edit button.
Then click the gear icon to change the properties of the dashboard.
When on the dashboard select the checkbox that says “let dashboard viewers choose whom they view the dashboard as”.
Click save on the properties then save on the dashboard.
Then you will be able to click the change button next to the users name.
Then you can change who this report is being viewed as.
Congrats on making your very own dynamic dashboard!
Conclusion
A big congrats to you for making it through this tutorial! We hope you found it useful!
