In the fast-paced world of business, the ability to transform raw data into actionable insights is invaluable. Salesforce, a leading customer relationship management (CRM) platform, not only empowers organizations to gather and analyze data but also equips users with the means to export these insights for further exploration and communication. Exporting Salesforce reports is a gateway to unlocking the potential of your data, allowing you to share, analyze, and present information in various formats tailored to your needs.
Imagine the power of being able to capture the essence of your sales performance, customer engagement, or campaign effectiveness in a format that can be easily shared with stakeholders, manipulated for deeper analysis, or integrated into presentations. Exporting reports from Salesforce offers precisely this capability, bridging the gap between data within the platform and the external world where decisions are made and strategies are crafted.
In this exploration of exporting Salesforce reports, we will uncover the diverse export options, delve into the step-by-step process, and showcase how this feature enhances collaboration, communication, and decision-making.
Youtube Video
Before we jump too far into the post I want to mention that there is a corresponding youtube video on the Salesforce Emily youtube channel to exporting a report.
I will embed that here but keep scrolling to get to the good stuff!
Step by Step Tutorial
The first thing you’ll need to do in exporting a report is go to reports.
Either select reports in the navigation bar or search for it in the app launcher.
Once in reports select the report that you would like to export.
This will take you to the report.
Then in the top right corner of the report click on the down carrot and then select “export”.
Next, you will choose your export view.
Either formatted report or details only.
When you choose the formatted report you only have the excel format as an export option.
However, if you choose the details only you can choose between .xls, .xlsx, and .csv.
Choose whichever option is best for your situation and click export!
