Salesforce Advanced Administrator Exam Study Guide

I am super excited to start working on this study guide! I recently passed my Platform App Builder Exam and I am ready to tackle the next salesforce cert! This exam has a lot of cross over between the App builder and the regular admin cert.

However, there are some differences and the questions go more in-depth to the full responsibilities of a salesforce admin. So let’s jump into what I plan on using for this exam.

Exam Guide

Of course, the first thing I will be looking at is the exam guide put out by salesforce to understand the concepts that are on the exam. You can find the exam guide here.

It’s super important to know the concepts that will be tested as well their weights and what a passing score is. There also is the pre requisite of the salesforce administrator 201 certification.

A quick overview of tested concepts:

  • Security and Access 20%
  • Extending Custom objects and Applications 8%
  • Auditing and Monitoring 6%
  • Sales Cloud Applications 10%
  • Service Cloud Applications 10%
  • Data Management 10%
  • Content Management 10%
  • Change Management 10%
  • Analytics, Reports, and Dashboards 10%
  • Process Automation 13%

Focus on Force

Another, great resource that I will be using is the focus on force practice exam set. These are super useful for testing your general knowledge of concepts and how you’d score for each section.

How I plan to use these exams:

1st Exam: Use to get a baseline of what you know and don’t know. Use my score at the end to guide my study in between exams. Study 50% concepts that I missed on the exam.

2nd-4th Exam: Take to get an updated baseline. Update what concepts I missed to my need to study list study 75%-100% of those concepts in between each practice exam.

5th Exam: Take this a few days before my scheduled exam to understand how I am projected to do on the exam, as well as get those last few concepts that I haven’t mastered to study.

Certification Trail on Trailhead

I love trailhead! They put out some great resources for you to get some hands-on training with them. It really helps me on the exam to go back in my memory and remember doing the configuration they are asking about.

Here is the trailmix for preparing for the exam

Salesforce Documentation

When you have a difficult concept for you to understand you’ll want to look at the documentation that salesforce puts out. It can be pretty boring to read through, but it will really help you know the purposes and limitations of the configurations.

Youtube/The Blog

I mention this a lot, but I find it incredibly useful to blog and create youtube videos about concepts that are difficult for me to understand. If I can explain a concept to someone else in a concise way that makes sense to them, then I have mastered the concept.

I highly recommend that you do this too! Plus I have so much fun growing these different platforms and helping a lot of people! So thanks for joining me on these platforms!
